Sidestep: Modern Pou
If you live in Auckland and climb Mt Eden you might have seen this thing. Its a concrete pou with two inscriptions. On the left inside is a Maori quote which means:
"From Te Pou Hawaiki to Te Kapua kai O Mataoho let us walk these ancient paths with our ancestors"
On the right is some unknown language. I asked Ngati Whatua for an interpretation of the unknown language. At the time of first writing this the inscriptions seemed similar to what is on the rocks at Raglan. However, we will wait to see if they reply. 15 days later they have not.
Also the shape of this pou is unusual and it could be a canoe paddle. I will ask them what the hole shape signifies.
