14: If stones could talk

At cave 2 there are possible markers hinting where the entrance is, but as always this needs to be taken with a grain of salt (preferably with a nice juicy steak). The cave is near a water source, was broken open by a digger and covered over again.

This general area is where the inscribed boulders at the Turangawaewae Marae came from.

One odd shaped rock was completely out of place... a toppled marker stone I was told. It is part of a collection of volcanic basalt columns that crack a certain way as they cool. I'm not sure it's a marker, but was in a strange place compared to the rest and would need many men or a digger to move it. No digger marks appear upon it and there is no reason for a digger to move just one out into the open. My theory is it fell off a truck transporting it to the place where they sealed the cave entrance But we are looking for rocks that look like they have been exposed in the last 20 years. There are only two such locations. More later, for this is not the primary site.

Not sure if this is a natural design or if it means anything? can you see it? If you squint you can see a perfect circle with something inside it. I altered the photo in Picasa to try to reveal the pattern a bit better.
