Sidestep: The First One

Below is a reproduction of our very first numbered post on this website. Little did we know we would find the location of other sites over time as well as a vast archive of information and photographs that would aid us in presenting a story different to that which most of us had been taught about the true history of these islands. The 'giants' we seek are 8'+ beings laid to rest a long time ago.

Did you know for example that some are inside a cave under Mt Karioi. It is known that a cave exists under the mountain as noted in a very old and obscure Maori reference text. The name Karioi means "to linger / to be permanent / to lie dead." Well, there is no more a permanent lingering than to lie dead is there! But the thing few know, is that Karioi was not the original name of that mountain as told to the first Europeans. It's real name actually means 'large chief' and the 'tattooed rocks' of Raglan had a story to tell, before all but four were destroyed by vandals, thieves, time and tide. But 'large chief' must mean the mountain itself, right? Wrong. There were stories from Kawhia and in Raglan itself when European first arrived of a legendary and very tall chief existing with his people, long before Maori arrived. (With his people...) - so far the rumoured stories would account for about 115 skeletons (in three locations) that are 8' + in height. How many more locations are their buried deep and undiscovered, or have been found and quickly covered over lest the truth be known? Well, time will tell I guess. Until then, we can prove nothing and therefore accept all skeptisism as appropriate unless you have researched, explored and discovered things to the level we have.

1: Those who were here first

January 8, 2016 | IJ

There are many stories, many by Maori themselves, of an ancient people who were here long before those we know as Maori arrived. One group are referred to as 'the stone people', and conjecture says they lived in huts made of stone; walls about a metre high and then covered with sticks and fern. Who knows for sure.

Our interest is in the original inhabitants before Maori arrived. Even Maori acknowledge that there were some ancient ones different to themselves, and that they were here first in small numbers and at specific localities. Some were short, some were dark, some were light. But one race of these first ones were tall, (2.2 metres +), and had fair skin. They had red hair it is said. Over time, skeletons of these ancients are said to have been found, yet no evidence has ever been produced, no bones to test, no photographs, no video...nothing!

Therefore they do not exist right? I mean, if no one can produce even a skerrick of evidence, then maybe there is no evidence?

On the other hand, if the stories keep appearing...and the result is the same, (that is: once authorities are advised - the sites are supposedly closed, destroyed, or contents secreted away), then it may also be true just because of the evidence of constant rumour from various locations over time.

Then again, Bigfoot has apparently been seen by many in the USA, yet no evidence has ever been produced. So we would say, as I do, that there is no such thing as Bigfoot.

Rumour and stories though, always have an element of truth. You have to read past the oral or written mistakes, misunderstandings, confusion of recollection, and conjecture in relation to certain things and events, I did just that. Yet even my information will be flawed - it has to be because no one knows the truth unless concrete evidence is produced, documented and tested.

But as a result, we have found one of the fabled sites of the tall ones...whatever their real name is. But before we go any further, click the link above "Why this blog was started". (see website)
