You've all seen WALL.E, that adorable little robot character from the movies...
Well, now meet RODN.E our new deep dirt reconnaissance vehicle to go where we can't before we get there... Someone kindly donated to our cause enabling us to buy him. Anyone else wanting to contribute - there is plenty of gear we need in the future.
We will post up some video of it working at a later date.
Here's an night vision shot of behind and in front of one of us digging. The night vision mode is rerally good. Unfortunately he had some moisture issues (the humidity with us in there is very high) so we couldn't trust him to go too far out of reach until he is dried out again. It has been suggested the confined space also affects the signal but we'll keep trying. I just don't want to lose him further up where we can';t retrieve him for a few weeks before we dig till his position. Maybe a retrieval line?
